Genta Ringgenberg

Genta A Ringgenberg, 70 of Madrid passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, with her family at her bedside at Israel Hospice House in Ames. The family is planning a private graveside service to honor her wishes.

Genta was born August 6, 1953, in Madid, Iowa to Reuben and Delores “Topsy” Peterson. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1971 and was united in marriage with Dean Ringgenberg on November 30, 1985.

Genta found solace in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time on her porch chatting with family and friends. She also had a passion for painting and gardening; her care for her gardens and greenhouse revealed her nurturing and patient character.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Dean; her son, Bret Carlson (Teejay); her daughter, Hollie Wicker (Jay); her grandsons, logan and Preston Wicker, and Oscar Carlson. She will also be missed by her brother, Rod Peterson, sister Dana Peterson and her sister-in-law, Shona Ringgenberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Ron Davis and Dennis Ringgenberg.

Genta lived a life filled with creativity and grace. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness. May she find peace in the gardens of heaven, painting the skies with her love.
