Shirley Ann Burke, 90

Shirley Ann Burke passed away on July 5, 2021 at the Madrid Home at the age of 90.

Shirley was born on March 28, 1931 to Frank and Vera (McDougal) Lawrence. She was raised in California where she met and married Jerry Burke. They soon moved to Iowa where they raised four daughters.

Shirley worked for many years at the former Federal Prescription Mail Order Pharmacy. After retirement she worked at the Medicap Pharmacy in Madrid.

Shirley was a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and loved listening to music. She made the best burnt grilled cheese sandwiches ever. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her husband Jerry and daughter Mary.

She is survived by daughters Cathy (Dale) Inglett of Billings, Montana, Susie (Randy) Green of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Trish Carlson of Madrid, Iowa, a son in law Mike Fischer of Madrid, Iowa and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
