Rick Isolini
Rick J. Isolini, 67, of Madrid, IA, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Rick was born December 5, 1956, in Boone, IA, the son of Bruno and Patricia (Sturdivant) Isolini. He attended the Madrid Schools where he graduated. He continued his education at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA, receiving a bachelor’s degree in education. Rick taught and coached in Southern Iowa at Mormon Trail and Schuyler Co Missouri. Rick returned to Madrid where he taught and coached in the Madrid Schools. Rick taught PE and Driver’s Education as well as coached softball and football and was a member of the of the State Football Champion team in 1991. While teaching, Rick also owned Nonni’s Restaurant in Madrid where he enjoyed making his authentic Italian food. He later was employed at the Woodward Resource Center where he retired.
Rick enjoyed spending time with friends, hanging out at Dalton’s Lodge watching TV, and making his famous Italian sausage. He was a proud fan of the Norte Dame Fighting Irish and Iowa State Cyclones. Rick also enjoyed spending Sundays and holidays at his sister Lori’s with family.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Lori (Mark) Reddish of Madrid, brother Rod (Jodie) Isolini of Clear Lake, nieces and nephews Garret, Kelsey, Lindsey, Jessie, and Jamie, and several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. in Hansen Hall at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Madrid. There will be a private burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Madrid.
