Douglas Johnson

Douglas W. Johnson, 79, died surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at his family home of over 50 years, just outside Woodward. A Memorial Service will be held 2 pm Saturday, December 9th at Iles Sundberg Kirkpatrick Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Doug was born March 1, 1944, in McPherson, KS to A.W. and Doris Johnson.

He met his wife, Donna Pagliai, fell in love and married on November 13, 1965. The couple raised three children: Michelle, Kirk and Jolene with love and devotion.

Doug retired from John Deere in 1998 after thirty-three years of service, working initially on the line and then becoming a supervisor. His retirement allowed him to devote his time to his two most favorite things, spending time with his wife, and being at their cabin in Minnesota.

Doug loved to fish and to go for pontoon rides on the lake with family and friends. He especially enjoyed pointing out all the bald eagle nests along the shore. He volunteered countless hours to the 50 Lakes Association, working to preserve the habitat and health of the land, lakes, and wildlife that he loved.

Survivors include his children: Michelle (Troy) Richards, Kirk Johnson, Jolene (Jason) Ingersoll; grandchildren: Joseph, Matthew, Joshua, Dakota, Aaron, and Kathryn; step grandchildren: Lesa, Amy, Logan and Renzi, and great grandchildren Hayden, Tallen and Nova. Doug is also survived by his sister Eileen, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews who will all miss him very much.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, and sisters Janet and Diane.

Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite animal shelter or wildlife fund in honor of his love for all living things.
