Peter Kenneth Jensen

Peter Kenneth Jensen, 90, passed away with family by his side on September 10, 2022. A visitation will be at 10:00AM, Saturday, September 17, 2022, with memorial service following at 11:00AM, at St. John Lutheran Church (104 S Market St, Madrid, IA 50156). Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Kenny was born December 14, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Madrid High School in 1951. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 13, 1951 and was honorably discharged on March 12, 1955. Kenny was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Aarons on June 3, 1956 in Madrid. They welcomed two children, Peter and Alice. He owned Ken Jensen Electric for 40 years.

Kenny was a member of St. John Lutheran church since 1958, a Lions club member for over 50 years and a Mason for over 50 years, achieving the title of Master Mason. He enjoyed taking flying lessons and getting his certificate to fly planes as well as always tinkering in his barn and farming. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren who always enjoyed his pocket full of candy.

Kenny will be missed by his wife, Mary Jensen of Madrid; children: Peter (Jane) Jensen of Madrid and Alice (Darren) Bullard of Providence Village, TX; grandchildren: Elizabeth Jensen, Eric Jensen and Hannah (Josh) Primrose; and one great-grandchild, Ravanna; his siblings: Theodore Jensen, Harold (Carole Diane) Jensen and Carol (Gordon) Mills. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Lawrence Jensen and Katherine (Earnest) Anderson and sister-in-law, Colleen Jensen.
