Gladys Marie Heinen (Erickson), 88

Gladys Marie Heinen (Erickson) age 88, passed from this life on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Madrid Nursing Home. Services will take place Wednesday June 16, 2021 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church with a visitation from 10:00 a.m-11:00 a.m. and a mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. Gladys will be laid to rest at the Mt. Hope Cemetery south of Madrid.

Gladys was born on May 1, 1933 to William and Pearl Burke. She spent her whole life in the Madrid area. She married Lloyd Erickson on October 22, 1953. They spent their lives farming north of Madrid. After Lloyd’s death on April 5, 2004 Gladys remarried Bernard Heinen on June 1, 2006. Gladys and Bernard had a very short time together, but that time was filled with love. Bernard passed away on June 23, 2012.

Gladys enjoyed being on the farm and raising her daughters. She enjoyed her flower beds, the seasons of planting and harvesting of the crops. She was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Ladies’ Guild, and VFW Auxiliary.

Gladys is survived by her six daughters; Sharon Hawbaker (Doug), (Gary Geiken), Marilyn Heidebrink (Duane), Mary Erickson, Debbie Baker (David), Crystal Bailey, and Diane Erickson. She also had eight grandchildren; Jodie Tipton (Todd), Julie McSpadden (Joseph), Greg Heidebrink (Laurie), Laura Ward (Eric), Ryan Erickson, Jon Baker, Stephen Bailey, and Victoria Bailey.
