Carolyn Ross

Carolyn (Johnson) Ross, 73, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022, after a 14 month courageous battle with cancer. A visitation followed by funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 7th at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid, Iowa. A burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 8th at Mt. Hope Cemetery, south of Madrid.

Carolyn was born the daughter of Harvey Earl and Elsie Mae (Henderson) Johnson on September 20th 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1966. After attending a semester of college in Colorado, Carolyn moved back to Central Iowa.

Carolyn worked various jobs until joining the United States Post Office as a Clerk in 1974, where she retired after almost 40 years of service.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Elsie, her brother Melvin and her husband Joseph.

Carolyn is survived by her three children Mark (Nikki) Jacobs, Chad (Amy) Ross, and Letha Ross. Her six grandchildren Haley, Zachary, Alexis, Nicholas, Addisyn, and Samuel and her Sister in law Phyliss Johnson. Carolyn also leaves behind her beloved two pet dogs Millie & Ida.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her warming smile, caring heart, and uplifting conversations will never be forgotten just missed.
